Coronavirus disease
(COVID-19) testing

Our clinic is staying up to date with local and statewide efforts to combat the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Does Family Physicians Clinic Offer COVID-19 testing?

As of June 22, 2020, Family Physicians Clinic began offering COVID-19 testing to established patients of our clinic.

What type of COVID-19 testing does Family Physicians Clinic offer?

Family Physicians Clinic offers the Sofia SARS Antigen Fluorescent Immunoassay (FIA) rapid testing.

What does a positive antigen test for COVID-19 mean?

If you have a positive test result, it is very likely that you have COVID-19 because proteins from the virus that causes COVID-19 were found in your sample.

Therefore, it is also likely that you may be placed in
isolation to avoid spreading the virus to others.

What does a negative antigen test for COVID-19 mean?

It is possible for this test to give a negative result that is
incorrect (false negative) in some people with COVID19. This means that you could possibly still have COVID19 even though the test is negative.

What happens if I receive a negative antigen test for COVID-19?

In accordance with CDC guidelines, if you receive a negative antigen test for COVID-19, our clinic will send your sample for a PCR test to ensure that you are in fact negative of the COVID-19 virus.

How can I get tested at Family Physicians Clinic?

  • Tests are done by appointment only Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.
  • Please call our office or contact us via our Patient Portal to schedule an appointment.
